Beginner Quilting 6 week class

Quilting is more than just sewing fabrics together - it is a creative tradition filled with color, texture and stories.
For beginners, quilting starts with a few simple tools, some beautiful fabric and a willingness to learn, 1 step at a time.
This 8 week course will start with fabric selection, prep and cutting and end with you having a beautiful 6 block quilt and the skills to go onto to bigger projects.
You will learn:
- how to read a quilt pattern
- how to cut the fabric for your project(s) using a rotary cutter and acrylic ruler(s)
- how to sew your cut pieces together and achieve an accurate 1/4" seam allowance on your sewing machine
- how to "sandwich" your quilt top with the batting and backing
- how to choose a quilting pattern and executing it
- how to make and apply a binding to your project
We will also talk about fabric/color placement and quilt labels.
