Intro to Sock Knitting

Introduction to Sock Knitting

or

My First Sock*

In class, we will knit a mini-sock incorporating all seven sections of sock-knitting construction.  While our sample will be knit top-down with a French heel and standard round toe, we will review alternative sock architecture and construction.  Numerous samples of alternative methods of cast-on, bind-off, heels and toes will be shared.  Students may work in their preferred method of circular knitting; double points (4 or 5), two circulars of magic-loop.  Pre-work (Homework before Class) will be required.

*This is NOT a circular knitting class.  If you have not knit in the round before, cast on and complete a simple project such as a hat before taking this class. Find several good video instructions on YouTube.
